Self-Guided Tours

• A 30–50% prepayment is required to confirm your self-guided tour.
• The exact amount depends on the tour package and the level of included services.
• The remaining balance must be paid at the time of bike delivery or tour start (whichever applies). Payments can be made via credit or debit card, using Stripe, or in cash, as agreed.

Bike Rental

• A 50% prepayment is required to confirm your bike rental booking.
• This prepayment secures the specific bike and size for your selected dates.
• The remaining balance is paid at the time of delivery or pick-up. Payments can be made via credit or debit card, using Stripe, or in cash, as agreed.

Security Deposit (applies to both Tours and Rentals)
A security deposit is required upon delivery:

• €350 per bike for standard gravel bikes
• €450 per bike for carbon bikes and e-bikes

The deposit is processed as a standard payment, not a pre-authorization hold.
It will be refunded after a basic inspection of the bicycle and rented equipment, confirming that no damage, loss, or abnormal wear has occurred.
Refunds are usually issued within 48 hours using the same payment method.
The security deposit is not a payment for services and is therefore not subject to VAT. It is held temporarily and fully refunded after inspection, provided no damage or loss is found.
The renter may be required to provide a valid form of identification (e.g., passport or national ID card) before or at the time of delivery. A photo or scan may be requested for the purpose of verifying identity and documenting the rental agreement.nt.

Self-Guided Tours:
A tour prepayment (typically 30–50% of the total cost) covers:

• the custom route design,
• logistics planning,
• GPX preparation,
• communication and consultation,
• and the reservation of specific bikes for your dates.

Because tour preparation starts well before your travel dates, refunds depend on how far in advance the cancellation is made and how much work has already been completed.

More than 60 days before the tour start date
70–90% refund.
We keep a small portion to cover initial consultation and route analysis.
The exact amount depends on how much work has already been completed.

30–59 days before the tour start date
50% refund.
At this point, a substantial part of the tour has usually been prepared
(route structure, daily distances, lodging research, logistics).

15–29 days before the tour start date
25% refund.
Most of the route design, logistics and customer materials are typically finished.

0–14 days before the tour start date
No refund.
Tour preparations (route, GPX, descriptions, logistics, webpage) is completed and dedicated bikes are reserved exclusively for you.

After the tour has started
No refund.

Rescheduling
When possible, we can offer to reschedule the tour to new dates (subject to availability).
This is not guaranteed but we always try to be flexible.


Bike Rental:

Bike rentals are different from tours:
there is no route-design work, but each bicycle (and size) is a limited resource reserved specifically for your dates.

More than 60 days before the rental start date
Full refund (minus transaction fees).

30–60 days before the rental start date
50% refund.

Less than 30 days before the rental start date
No refund.

These terms reflect the fact that each bike is reserved exclusively for you,
and short-notice cancellations often cannot be rebooked.

The renter is fully responsible for the bicycle and any rented equipment during the rental period.
In case of loss, theft, or damage (beyond normal wear and tear), the renter agrees to compensate the current market value of the item(s) and, if applicable, the costs associated with repair or replacement (including labor).
The exact amount will be communicated to the renter along with supporting documentation (e.g. photos, purchase prices, repair estimates).
The renter must comply with local traffic laws and safety regulations.
Helmets are strongly recommended and are available upon request.

Mirror Throne LDA is not liable for injuries, accidents, or third-party damages occurring during the rental period.
The renter assumes all risks related to cycling activity, including but not limited to road conditions, weather, and physical fitness.

Participation in our tours is limited to adults and minors aged 14 years or older, only when accompanied by their parent(s) or legal guardian(s).
We do not accept children under the age of 14 for participation in our tours.

Rental fees do not include insurance.
We recommend that clients have their own travel or personal liability insurance.

Bikes must not be used for racing, commercial activity, or illegal purposes.
Rental equipment must not be sub-rented or transferred to third parties.

We collect and process personal data (e.g., name, contact details, ID document) for the purpose of fulfilling rental agreements. For more details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Portuguese law.
Any disputes shall be handled by the courts of Setúbal, Portugal.
